Dandruff-fighting agents
- zinc pyrithione (ZPT)–this is the secret to fighting dandruff and is found in all of our shampoos. It prevents the dandruff-forming microbe, Malassezia globosa, from forming scalp irritants. Head & Shoulders uses a unique, highly effective form of ZPT.
- selenium sulfide–this powerful active ingredient is used to treat more severe flaking conditions; it is found in our shampoos for seborrheicdermatitis.
Our special ingredient: zinc carbonate– H&S is the only AD shampoo that uses a special technology based on zinc carbonate. This exclusive technology fights dandruff better by moisturizing the scalp, while protecting the active ingredient, ZPT, so it stays in its most effective form.
